We love having our friends over and enjoy sharing a meal with them and catching up on life around a campfire...Parker loves seeing his best buddies too!

Weeks 9-12...
It is unbelievable how much Parker is changing in such a short time. Every day he continues to learn new things and reach new milestones....Joel and I like to think it is because we are such great parents!
9 weeks...
Smiles are much more frequent and the laughing lasts longer and longer. We now spend most of our days trying to be as funny (stupid) as possible so he will laugh!
Started cloth diapers...we had a few incidents (leaking diapers and a few poop explosions!), but we realized it was due to the fact that we had not washed them enough times so they were not absorbent enough yet. A few more washes and we were back in business! We are really liking them and every diaper used we celebrate the savings ($$$)!!
10 weeks...
Now sleeping a solid 10 hours through the night consistently! Mommy feels like her normal life has returned!
Likes to sit in the bouncy seat and watch Praise Babies!
11 weeks...
Recognizes himself in a mirror and LOVES to look at himself and smile!
Drooling a lot in combination with sucking on his fists...teeth soon?!?!
Rolling over...once he rolls over he doesn't know what to do and he cries a lot but he will get there! His arm gets caught under his body too...can't quite figure out how to move that yet!
12 weeks...
Moving a lot in his sleep. Parker wakes up on the opposite side of the crib, turned upside down and with his legs sticking out of the crib bars...needless to say he does not enjoy waking up this way!
Grabbing toys. Joel loves this especially when it is his stuffed basketball that he is grabbing!
Snuggling with his new monkey friend...he panics when it covers his face so he can only have supervised hang out times!
Sitting in Bumbo seat.
We have been working on Tummy Time more and more. This week he finally started getting the hang of it!
A few more pictures of what Parker has been up to! He is absolutely loving summer...having daddy home a lot in combination with not having to wear clothes all the time has been his favorite!

Appreciation...
I always knew that being a mom was a job that often receive little to no recognition from your children for all you do for them. The other day though I received an email from Parker giving me just the boost I needed! Even though I think he received a "little" help from daddy I will take what I can get...he is only 3 months old after all!
Hi Mommy,
That is awesome you are making so much food for me! Thank you for taking time out of your day to give me the best food possible for me to grow big and strong. I love hanging out with Daddy, but I miss you. I loved that I was able to see you this morning; you always make me smile. You are such an amazing mom! Daddy tried singing me the Spider song and Rock-a-bye Baby but it wasn't as good as you and he even forgot the words to some of those simple songs. So then he resorted to singing the "Mean" song by Taylor Swift. That was really funny! He gets so into that! After daddy fed me this morning I was so tired and went down to sleep without too much fussing at 7:45-9:45AM in the crib! Aren't you proud of me? Again you are best mommy ever! Thank you for everything you do: washing my cool diapers, buying clothes, playing with me, kissing me and not kissing me when you have a cold sore, being such a hot mom that I can brag to my friends about, changing my diapers, singing to me with motions, reading to me and so much more!
I love you mommy! Oh and Daddy says he loves you too.
I can't wait until you get home!

Happy Father's Day...
Joel's 1st Father's Day was spent at Big Star Lake with his family. Already I am amazed at what a wonderful Father Joel is to Parker. He loves to spend time with him, teach him new things, cuddle with him and show him off to people! Parker is a lucky little boy to have such a fabulous daddy!
Both Joel and I have fabulous fathers that have influenced us in major ways and we love them both so much! As I get older and now that I have my own family I reflect more on the sacrifices our dads (and moms) made so that we could have a Christian Education, happy memories, see the world, be clothed and have a sense of security and love. These are not always easy things to provide and all kids unfortunately are not blessed in these ways! I am very appreciative of the life I was given and the dad I was blessed with.
After we returned home from the cottage we were able to celebrate Father's Day with my family. Parker even got to ride grandpa's sea doo...it was an exciting day!

Happy 4th of July...
Having Parker in our lives is nothing short of a miracle and has filled our lives full of new laughs, but the 4th of July was the full realization of our new lives. While everyone else was celebrating with fireworks and being out at the beach we were inside wishing all of our neighbors would stop setting off fireworks because Parker jumped in his sleep and woke up every time they went off...life has changed! We were able to go to the Zeeland parade and see Great Grandpa Nagelkirk ride his tractor.
We also went to Grandpa and Grandma Lambert's cottage at Indian Lake for the last time...they sold it!
Rain, Rain go away...
Our week at Big Star Lake was rainy! I guess we were due for some bad weather since the past few years have been sunny and warm. Despite the weather we had a lot of fun with the family. I actually didn't mind spending more time inside because Parker requires being inside more while he feeds and his skin is so fair we didn't want him out in the sun much. He did get a chance to be outside for his first boat ride and to get in the water for a bit. Once out on the lake in the pontoon a storm rolled in and we were trapped under the boat awning and had to be rescued by Kyle and Corey with the umbrellas! Parker seemed unfazed by all of the action!
