Parker loves to feed himself, and we try not to worry about how big of a mess he makes and just let him do it! Strawberries and Beef-a-roni were the winners this week for the messiest meal! Parker loves to proudly show off his messy little face afterwards...even with all of the mess that face still is the most adorable ever!

Gardening 2012...
I have tried my hand at gardening now for a few years and while I haven't had the best luck some years due to birds, weeds, lack of attention, rabbits and not enough rain I am back in the saddle again giving it another try.
Veggie Garden...
Strawberry Patch...very overgrown! I have learned a lot about what NOT to do when growing strawberries. I plan on ripping all of these out after this harvest and starting completely over. I can't wait!

Feel the Zeel...
We were "Feelin' the Zeel" on Memorial Day at the parade. As a fairly new mom I am still learning the art of being prepared for every situation. Today marked another epic failure of preparedness. Who knew that at 9:00 in the morning you would need sunscreen?!?! It was super hot and very sunny (as you will be able to see in the pictures!). Parker loved the parade though and sat nicely watching everything go by as he fried in the sun!

I will never understand their little minds...
We met up with Jodie, Wally and the kiddos to play at Froggy Hollow today! It was a beautiful, sunny day, and the kids loved being outside and playing on all of the toys. Parker, however, hardly played on the toys...he instead played with the wood chips! Throwing them, putting them on the playground equipment and eating them! I just never understand what goes through his mind! What makes him want to eat wood? Some days he won't eat certain foods we give him...he puts them in and spits them out! But not wood chips! He would consume as many as we would let him if he had his way! Even when we got to the car, I took off his shoes and there was dirt and little pieces of wood chips stuck to his feet. He immediately started picking them off and eating them! I wonder if this is like when pregnant women crave dirt because they have low iron?! The pediatrician did say he has low iron, and we just started giving him iron drops so maybe that will help! Silly little boy!
Sweaty and dirty after lots of hard playing...

Surprise day off...
Joel only gets one day off a year and as the school year comes to a close he still has not used his day. He had told me that he was planning to attend a golf event with Chris for his day off, but then like a little kid who can't keep a secret he told me that he actually was planning on surprising me and taking a day off to spend with me and Parker! When the day came it was so fabulous outside and we just had the most fabulous day together...the perfect combination of fun and productivity.
Bike ride and picnic at the park...
Chilling in the backyard with the Water Table...Parker's squinty eyes crack me up! This is what all our summer pictures are going to look like!

A great preview of what is to come this summer! We can't wait!

Future Camper...
On Sunday afternoon we heard on the radio that Camp Geneva was having an open house which means free swimming and cookies...so we headed out to cool off and enjoy the pool! There were so many families and kids there and Parker was a little overwhelmed, but we still had fun playing in the water!
Lazy river...
Parker was curious about the lifeguard up on the chair...
I can get in the pool by myself!
Basketball in the pool?! Parker thought that was pretty cool...
