A Fav and Not a Fav...

My most favorite thing right now is when Parker and Peyton wake up in the morning or from a nap; I just love their warm cheeks pressed against mine and the smell of their warm breath! It is odd because it smells a little stinky but also oddly sweet!   I just love cuddling with them on the couch and sitting cheek to cheek while they slowly wake up.  Their bodies are heavy and relaxed...they feel like a blanket!  I just kiss them and tell them how much I love them over and over!

My least favorite thing right now is bringing Peyton to the doctor!  She has had two ear infections so far in the month of January and she just absolutely freaks out when I bring her to the doctor...writhing in my arms and screaming hysterically at the top of her lungs...snot and tears every where!  I always leave the doctor sweating and ready to hand her off to daddy as soon as I walk in the door!

Thank you Lord so much for the gift of these two little ones!

Snow, Snow, Go Away!

This winter was intense to say the least!  We had a ton of snow...record high since 1978 with 115 inches.  Not only was it snowy but it was cold.  We had many days hovering close to 0 degrees.  Joel had several snow days due to the wind chill being below -15 degrees and kids not being able to stand outside to wait for the bus!

Joel and I are very thankful that we had a snow blower this year that could handle all of this snow.  Our neighbors were always so great with helping each other out as much as possible.

Russ came over to help Joel out.  The snow was as high as the snow blower!

Peyton loves to watch daddy out the window.  She loves when he waves to her.  She points and says "dada".

Our Winter Wonderland...

This winter has been brutal!  We have only been able to take the kids outside a few times in the past month due to the temperature being close to 0 degrees with windchills close to -20 degrees.  We have already had 90 inches of snowfall and Joel has had 7 snow days already!

The ZCS sledding hill was our outing for the afternoon.  After getting everyone bundled up I think we lasted 30 minutes!  :)

After going down the big hill twice Parker was ready for something smaller!  So Joel pushed him down a snow pile and Parker loved it!

Peyton just loved sitting in her red sled being pulled around.

Playing in ice forts.

One final run and we need to head home to get warm!

Peanut Butter Jelly Time...

Eating PB&J can be a messy affair with these two little ones!  Parker was loving having a messy face today which is not the norm.

11 months...

It is true that you take less pictures and keep worse track of milestones as you add little ones to your family!  These are all there are and I am actually writing this much later than her 11 month milestone so I have no clue what to say about her at this point!  Sorry Peyton!  We love you!

It's a New Year...

We celebrated the New Year with Gritters and Kuipers by hanging out at our house, sharing a meal and then heading to the ZCS gym to burn off some energy!  We headed home for an early night in and were in bed before 11pm...oh how life has changed!

The 1st day of the New Year Joel's back started acting up...not a great start to the year.  The 2nd day of the New Year we woke up to flashing lights in the front yard and a pond!  The water main broke and flooded the front yard.  Several hours later it was fixed...our road was covered in ice due to all of the water they pumped into the street that quickly froze and we had a 6 foot deep hole in our front yard!  Yikes!  They say they will come back in the Spring to fix it all and plant new grass...we sure hope so.  The blessing in it all was we didn't have to pay a penny for it because the break was on the city's side!  Phew!  It did provide a whole afternoon of entertainment though!  Hopefully the New Year takes a turn for the better!
