I worked today so I was gone before the kids woke up and got home right at dinner time. In the 1 1/2 hours between dinner being done and bed I experienced the whole gamete of emotions of motherhood.
Heart wrenching fear: Peyton was climbing up and down the basement steps. Joel and I were discussing Peyton climbing the stairs and when would be an appropriate time to stop watching her so carefully while she went up and down. As I sat at the bottom of the stairs watching her reach the top of the stairs she leaned backwards and flipped down the wood stairs. My heart leapt as I jumped up to catch her after she toppled down several stairs. I began freaking out hoping she was okay as I held her close as she cried. I could have burst into tears thinking of the worst that could have happened, but Joel kept me calm. Within a few minutes she had calmed down and we were able to assess the minor bump on her head...nothing else seemed to be wrong.
Giggles and a heart full of love and appreciation for the gift God has blessed us with, Peyton (and Parker): After bringing Peyton upstairs to continue to calm her and cuddle her, we had such a special time of snuggling on the couch and reading books together. She giggled at the funny voices I made and all of the kisses I kept giving her! It was one of those moments where I fully appreciated the gift that motherhood is and the blessing Peyton and Parker are in my life. In that time with Peyton I thanked God for giving me the best calling/job in the world.
A yucky/gross (and really funny) incident: After stripping Peyton down in preparation for her bath, she came to stand next to me as I was adjusting the water temp. All of a sudden my foot was feeling warm and I looked down to see Peyton peeing on my foot!

Laundry Helpers...
My two littles are the best helpers! They were so adorable tonight all snuggled up with their blankies and pacis keeping me company while I folded their clothes. Parker's favorite game to play is telling me whose article of clothing I am holding. Thankful for these special moments with my kids!

Mother's Day...
Being a mommy is such a blessing in my life! I cherish the moments I get to spend with my Parks and Pey and love raising them with my best friend, Joel. Today was a day spent with family and appreciating and honoring our own moms as well!
We all had fun playing on Kelly's Mother's Day gift and the boys' bikes as well! It was so beautiful outside! So thankful for summer weather!

Tip-toe Through the Tulips...
Tulip Time is always an exciting time in Holland. It was a fun week of visiting downtown for parades, ice cream, Dutch Dancers and tulips! Parker was very inspired from the week and now likes to pretend he is in a parade, Dutch Dancing and wearing wooden shoes.
