Life Goals List...

Before you have children you try to convince yourself that you will continue to be the same person after you have children.  It only takes a few weeks after your first child is born to realize your life will never be the same!  You are not the same person you once were, but that is completely okay!  You become a different (and kind of better) version of yourself!  It still takes a little to get used to, but after thinking about it more I realized that I still have the same dreams and even some new ones.  I wrote out my life list so I can stay on track to what I want to accomplish in my life!  I am sure along the way I will want to add some more as well!

1. Swim with a dolphin
2.  Start a blog
3.  Marry the man of my dreams
4.  Backpack through Europe
5.  Anonymously donate $1,000 to a family
6.  Be an audience member on the Ellen show
7.  Run a marathon
8.  Build my dream house
9.  Have children...so far I've had one!
10.  Go to a Lady Gaga and Jack Johnson concert
11.  Crash a wedding
12.  Vacation in Bora Bora
13.  Pay off our home mortgage
14.  Sky dive
15.  Send kids to Christian school
16.  Spend a summer in Colorado
17.  Speak Spanish fluently
18.  Be able to see my abs
19.  Learn how to use the manual setting on my camera well
20.  Reupholster a piece of furniture
21.  Be an extra in a movie
22.  Become a spin instructor
23.  Grow fruit trees...cherry, apple, pear, and peach

Saugatuk hiking...

The end of summer has been wonderful as we try to cram in as much outdoor activities as possible before it is too cold for Parker to be outside. We hit up Qdoba and then went hiking out at Saugatuck State Park with Kuipers. It actually ended up being way colder than what we thought...that is why Parker looks like he is dressed for the middle of winter!

4 month check-up...

Parker had his 4 month check up today. We were anxious to see how he has grown over the past month. He weighed in at 14 lbs 13.2 oz (50%) and was 26 inches long (75%). In the past he has cried through every appointment, but this time he did fabulous! The nurse thought he was adorable...he kept giving his bashful smile to her! He had to get some shots at this appointment too...boo! I always feel so bad for him, but he did really good. He cried during the actual shots, but as soon as I picked him up he was fine and didn't fuss any more! I think the sugar water they gave him before made all of the stress of the shots go away! As a reward for how great he did Parker got 2 Captain America band-aids and a sticker! I quickly learned that leaving a sticker on Parker's shirt unattended was a bad idea...he sucked on it and was eating it as it fell off because it was so soggy!

Silver Lake camping...

Everything with Parker is a first for the most part...so this goes without saying...Parker's first camping trip! We headed to Silver Lake with Josh, Kelly, the boys, Laurie and Kevin. We were able to borrow a pop-up from Laurie's sister so that made the experience a great one! It rained a little and our pop-up proved to be a fortress against the rain!

Parker did really great the first night (besides having a little bit of a harder time falling asleep due to all of the loud trucks driving around), but had a much harder time the second night. It got pretty cold and the heater in our camper didn't work so Parker woke up around 11pm not a happy camper! The poor little guy was so cold. I drove him around in the car to get warmed up while the boys tried to get the heater started. The boys weren't able to get it started so we resorted to walking around to other campers asking if they had a space heater we could borrow...we found one and it saved the night! Our little camper was toasty in no time and Parker was back to having sweet dreams!

We went to the dunes on Saturday with Josh's Suburban and it was so fun to watch people attempt to go up test hill and drive around the dunes! It is amazing what a suburban can get through!
