I can't believe Parker is already 4 months old! Every day seriously keeps getting better and better as we see him become a little boy! We are starting to see some of his personality come out and love that the good moods are outweighing the fussy times!
We bought Parker a new toy this month....well, maybe it was a new toy for daddy and mommy! A CHARIOT!!! Joel spent much time doing research on the best one to buy and then we just bit the bullet and went for it and have never looked back! It took a little bit for Parker to get used to it...we started out only going around the neighborhood stopping every few houses to put the paci back in his mouth! Now we have progressed to a 6 mile ride around Zeeland! Joel and I feel like we have gained a piece of ourselves back! We spend several nights a week out and about cruising the town and it feels so good to be able to enjoy biking together again!
Parker has become more active these days. He kicks his leg (mostly his right leg) all day long! It seems like it would hurt sometimes as he kicks his car seat, the music box at the end of his bouncy seat and lots of other things. He also is rolling over lots...we tried to capture the sequence of this event!
Playing with daddy is the activity of choice lately...Joel has a way of getting Parker to giggle the cutest little giggle ever which easily gets both of us laughing too! Daddy plays a little more rough with Parker than mommy does, but Parker seems to love it! Some times daddy pays the price though with a little spit up on himself!
Parker was too little to go to the beach much this year, but we did make it out one night just to walk around the pier (not stroller friendly), watch the boats come in and walk around in the sand. Parker was having so much fun so we stayed out past his bedtime...then there was the ride home! He screamed bloody murder the whole way home...Joel drove home as quickly as possible but we had several close calls in the process!
Grandma Lambert loves to come over and play with Parker while mommy goes to work. Parker always sleeps extra good on those nights due to all of the fun activities!
Parker showed the first signs of wanting to sleep on his tummy! After feeding him I have just been sliding him over onto the couch where he precedes to sleep...sometimes for as long as 2 hours! I think we will be fans of tummy sleeping once he gets the hang of it.
Parker had some colicky behavior early on and occasionally has an upset stomach so through a recommendation of a friend we have been using Gripe Water. As you can see it does not resemble water at all! Instead it looks like he ate an ink pen (Earnest Goes To Jail?!?). It is a challenge to keep his hands away from his mouth, keep it off of his clothes and the furniture...it stains! It is worth the trouble, though, because it calms him down almost immediately!
I came into the kitchen one day to find this...daddy apparently is starting Parker on candy early! Twizzler Time!
Parker's best friend these days is Sofie the Giraffe...she is always close by during playtime, nap time, running errands and at church (not always the best idea...she is kinda squeaky).
Hanging out with the cousins is very entertaining for Parker....he joins in and plays right along with them! It is so fun to have Abigayle so close in age to Parker...once they get a little older they will be best buddies!
Parker loves to touch Joel's face when it is scratchy...he is really into feeling new textures! He is experimenting with his voice and facial expressions too! It is so fun to see him come into his own!
