Parker, I love...

...the way you hum loudly to put yourself to sleep at bedtime, help you fall back asleep if you wake up in the middle of the night and to help you wake up slowly in the morning!

...the way you make us laugh with the things you say that catch us off guard.  A few of my favorites lately were when you said "Mommy's/Daddy's hot!" ( I think he was thinking more in reference to temperature, but still a compliment in my book!) and "Mommy's/Daddy's a blessing." (After discussing a book we have called "Counting Blessings").

...how you sing along to the children's CD we have in the car.  My favorite is how you shout "HOORAY!" when singing "If Your Happy and You Know It" and how when it says "...your face will surely show it" you put a smile on your face and make your eyes all squinty!

...how you kiss/hug my tummy to show love to the baby and when you say "Bye Bye Mommy!" followed by "Bye Bye baby!" whenever I leave.

...when you sit in your chair and read books aloud.  Now that you have lots of new stuffed friends you enjoy reading to them too!

...how you run/prance around the house when you are excited about something...mostly related to daddy rough-housing you!

...that you request for mommy and daddy to sing you songs every night before you go to bed.  We are becoming quite the duo and are open to taking requests at any local churches for special music!  :)

...that you love fruit!  It hurts the grocery budget a little but makes us feel good that you are eating healthy food.  The way you say "blueberries (boo-berries)" melts my heart every time...that could be why I am buying them out of season at $4.00 for a small container!

...how you crouch down in front of babies and small children and give them your squinty-eyed smile and touch them on the head.

...how smart you are.  You talk non-stop and are starting to learn things like your ABC's and how to count.  Today you even learned to find matches with the Old Maid cards and how to take turns playing Connect Four (we aren't actually playing...just learning how to take turns putting pieces in).

...that you are starting to use your imagination while you play.  Interacting with puppets, pushing trains on the track, setting up stuffed animals like they are your friends, and pushing cars around making noises.

...that you boss us around.  We are constantly being told..."Daddy, come here", "Mommy sit there",  "Daddy help me", etc.  We are definitely not in charge of our own lives any more, but there is no one we would rather be bossed around by!!

Trying out the baby's car seat.

Reading books to a captive audience.
